Kayenta, Arizona

With 72 miles today, day 2 is in the books for a total of a 150 miles on this trip. We woke up to a beautiful Sunny morning and by 10 o'clock in the morning we had a tail wind. The 1st 50 miles were a steady uphill grade in the last  22 were nice downhill ride into town.

With the lack of camping availability on the Hopi and Navajo reservations, we stayed in a hotel last night and again tonight. The reservations were affected greatly by the Covid 19 virus. Even now after the  Vaccines were effectively distributed on the reservations,  they remain very cautious.   Restaurants are open for takeout only and there is a curfew on the reservation from 11:00 at night until 5:00 in the morning. With as tired as we are that won't affect us at all. What does affect us is the fact that they don't sell alcohol on the reservation.
